Halcyon Solar Construction (HSC) is a Northern California based renewable energy integrator which conducts business throughout the United States. HSC concentrates in photovoltaic (PV) systems and offers comprehensive services for residential, commercial, government, non-profit, and utility customers. Halcyon Solar Construction currently holds a C-10 Electrical Contractor License and a B General Building Contractor License in the State of California, while maintaining a staff that is California Journeyman Electricians certified and NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certified. 

      Halcyon Solar Construction delivers full solar services including design, project management, excellent service, and installation to customers throughout the United States. Our solar design staff can create the most cost effective solution for each customer’s alternative power needs whether the system requirement consists of hundreds of watts to megawatts. Halcyon Solar Construction’s experience is nationally recognized for small and large commercial, government, and residential PV systems. 

Management Biographies

Daniel Herman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

      Dan Herman is a widely recognized expert on solar power and a long-time advocate of its many uses. He brings the ability to design, manage, and install systems from residential to large-scale commercial applications, including government and non-profit organizations. Dan is responsible for leading national strategic operations and materials sourcing for Halcyon Solar Construction. His 22 years of experience working as an Electrical Contractor in both residential, commercial, and also the private and public sectors of construction have proven to be a solid basis for the challenges of this developing field. Dan has a C-10 Electrical Contractor’s License and a B General Contractor’s License in the State of California.   Recognized as an industry leader, Dan Herman, has provided training to electricians and field technicians in areas of safety, photovoltaic installation, and commissioning. In the 1990’s, Dan co-founded D & J Electric before joining Conergy who is the largest European renewable energy system integrator. He served as Conergy’s Director of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction and helped develop the US market with strong and profitable growth. This experience has provided him with the practical and technical experience necessary to evaluate and ensure the quality and cost structure of our systems.  

Andrew Begley, Chief Operations Officer (COO) 

      Andy Begley has his own individual heritage of successfully completing large complex projects on time with high quality results.  He is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in the public and private sector of the electrical and the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. His role as Chief Operations Officer of Halcyon Solar Construction is to bring efficiency to internal systems and manage construction operations. He has personally installed many photovoltaic systems and managed installation crews of up to 25 installers.  Andy’s knowledge of the field and on-site management has excelled him as a leader in the PV industry.   Prior to joining Halcyon Solar Construction, Andy Begley was the Operations Manager for Conergy Projects, Inc, a leading designer and installer of solar PV systems in the United States. His most recent accomplishment was completing a thin-film 417 KW tracker, an industry first for First Solar modules. Andy was also instrumental in developing a single-axis tracker system across the United States. He has a C-10 Electrical Contractor’s License in the State of California, a California Certified Journeyman Electrician Certificate and is NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certified. Andy’s combined experience and certifications make him an excellent addition to the management team.
